Transiting (RGB) consists of an LED screen which acts almost like an enlarged GIF, showing an image of a full moon immersed in clouds playing on a loop. Leckey has often used images or recordings of the moon in other works. Notably in his 2015 video, Dream English Kid, 1964-1999 AD, which collages what the artist has called ‘found memories’ from various sources – advertizements, music videos, tv shows and programs, gathered from streaming sites and other online archives. The idea of finding memories points toward the exponentially increasing phenomena of being able to find much of our lived experience as documented and archived somewhere digitally or online.
