Camille Henrot is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans film, sculpture, drawing, painting, installation, and writing. Her practice explores how contemporary subjects navigate systems of knowledge, belief, technology, desire, and social behaviour, often drawing connections between intimate psychological experience and broader cultural structures. Combining references from anthropology, psychoanalysis, self-help culture, digital media, and everyday life, Henrot examines the ways meaning is organised, repeated, and circulated within contemporary society. Her works frequently employ collage, accumulation, classification, and associative forms of display, producing dense visual environments where humour, ambivalence and contradiction coexist. Across her practice, Henrot is particularly interested in the tension between order and excess, and in how systems designed to structure human experience, from language and etiquette to technology and mathematics, can also become a territory of play and counterfactual understanding.
