SAGG Napoli is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans video, performance, sculpture, spoken word, and digital media. Working across personal narrative and collective cultural identity, her work examines questions of class, gender, regional belonging, and the construction of Southern Italian identity within broader European cultural frameworks. Central to her practice is an engagement with what she describes as a 'South Aesthetics,' reclaiming visual languages often associated with excess, spectacle, ornamentation, or social marginality and repositioning them as sites of agency, resistance, and emotional intensity. Her works frequently move between vulnerability and theatricality, combining autobiographical elements with performative gestures that explore discipline, endurance, catharsis, and embodied experience. Drawing on influences ranging from popular culture and street aesthetics to ritual, sport, and online self-fashioning, SAGG Napoli treats performance as both a social condition and a survival strategy. Digital culture also plays a significant role within her practice, with social media functioning not simply as documentation, but as an active space for experimentation, identity construction, and the circulation of contemporary image culture.
